2021 ADGA Nationals was the first year we brought our own animals to the big leagues. Despite the scare and bout of pneumonia Acquire battled (the very cold barn did not help coming from 90 degree days in FL) in Louisville, she placed 3rd (1st youth!) in a very large class of dry yearlings.

First freshener Acquire came out with a bang. 2weeks after kidding she earned her first milking leg at Ring in the New Year show 2021. And at Florida State Fair, she won Best In Show Youth. Very proud of this young and still immature doe, I can't wait to see what she accomplishes as a more productive doe throughout her lifetime.

Unfortunately, when you think you have everything planned out, suddenly things come crashing down. July 29th, 2023, after a completely normal morning milking, Acquire was unable to bring herself up to the barn for evening milking. She was found very weak with gangrenous mastitis and was taken to the UF Large animal hospital for an emergency mastectomy. Unfortunately, despite everyone's efforts, she was unable to pull through. Gone way too soon and absolutely not forgotten. Acquire was one of a kind in everyway. Her second freshening daughter Devotion is the only that remains in the herd; she is quickly taking on the role of the strongest personality in the barn, just as her dam was.

The opportunity presented to bring her first freshening daughter, Premonition, back into the herd. We could not say no so she returned October of 2023. She has so many beautiful mannerisms as her dam.
